Bottle 65 cl. Pours an opaque black with a dense but dissipating light brown head. Chocolatey aroma. Medium body, some roast but dominated by the sweetness from the lactose. However, this seems to find a neat balance between roast and milk sugars so avoids ever getting cloying. Hops very downplayed. 040216

Keg at Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Pours deep brown with a creamy khaki head. The nose holds a lot of dusty chocolate, light roast, earth. Medium sweet flavor with ashy roast, burnt sugars, lactose, milk chocolate, scorched earth. Medium bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish with more burnt sugars, chocolate, bitter earth. A by-the-book milk stout pretty much.
