This German Black Lager pours jet black in color with creamy tan foam. A cold fermentation with Starr Hill's house lager yeast provides an exceptionally clean yeast profile, which really allows the malt character to come through loud and clear. Aromas of dark roasted coffee, chocolate and subtle hints of dark fruit (plum and black cherry) are complemented by the rich flavor of Munich malt. Spicy Tettnang hops towards the end of the boil balance the rich malt character. Don't let the color fool you! This beer has a medium-light body and crisp/clean finish that make it a great year-round drinker.
