Bottle, 3.5 years past the BBD. Pours cloudy very dark brown with stable beige head. Clear aroma of roast, malt and yeast, mwith notes of dark fruit and touches of smoke. Bitter, roasty and coffeelike onset, giving way to dusty and sweetish notes of malt and yeast and touches of smoke. Roasty, dusty, and smoky aftertaste with notes of yeast and hints of fruit. Decent.

Draught at KØ14 as Kongebryg with cherry, vanilla and oak. Weak vanilla aroma. Black colour. Small stable light brown head. The flavour has a good vanilla note. Sweet and vinous. I do not taste much cherry, though. 7 3 7 3 16 Bottle, 7.6%. Best before 2016, 3½ years ago. Mild coffee aroma, clean and pleasant. Almost black colour. Seems clear. Good stable light brown head. The flavour has a mild chocolate note and a little earth, probably due to its age. Other than the earth, it is still a good beer. 7 3 7 3 15

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear black with a warm burgundy tint, so not thick or opaque, with a beige head. Discreet roast in the nose. Body is medium or rather thin for an Imperial Stout, sweet licorice. Again lowish carbonation. But very soft and smooth on your pallet and very easy drinking. But a bit lightweight for anything Imperial. 170217

Bottle shared by the brewer at Fermentoren, Copenhagen, Jan 2014
Dark brown near black color. Roasted malt aroma, very light wood/vanilla. The mouthfeel is quite smooth; Some roasted malt and dark caramel flavor, moderate residual sweetness, medium to strong bitterness.
Simple.
