Bottled, thanks fonefan! Dark brown, small beige head. Lightly smoky licorice aroma. Sweet with medium-full body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate and smoky licoric, notes of vanilla. Fairly low bitterness. Mild, yet rich. Laid back.

Nearly black, seems clear. Frothy light tan head. Strong roasted aroma, malt and chocolate notes. Sweet and fruity caramel flavour. Semi sticky mouthfeel. I don’t really get any of the advertised cherries or vanilla. Or for that matter any of the oak and honey.

Bottle @ Home. Pours black with a creamy light brown head, nice lacings. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, tart cherries, wood. Flavor is light sweet, malty, dark chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, cherries, licorice, wood. Medium body, average carbonation. 261214

Bottle from trade with fonefan, many thanks! Sehr dunkelbraunes Bier mit ordentlicher bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, Kaffee, Vanille. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, schokoladig, Kaffee, etwas dünn.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate, dusty malt, light dark chocolate, light alcohol. Flavour is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, malt bitter, dark roasted bitter, dark roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140301]

Bottled. A black beer with a brown shine under a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and a bit of soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notesnof roasted malt and alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.
