Poured from a bottle. Aroma is interesting with some definite oxidation featuring cork and honey. Moderate spice notes with something like old lavender or thyme. Somewhat floral with an interesting phenolic note. Strong pop on opening with a slow, climbing foam. Pours a murky, reddish copper color with a medium large, thick white head that slowly recedes. Flavor is slightly sweet with a moderately strong honey note. Moderately strong bitterness with a bit of cork. Some light caramel notes. Quite a bit of a spice presence with some light floral notes. Moderate phenolics. Light acidity. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an interesting beer but not a great one. The spices clash with the oxidation in a not kind way. Lots of malt and spices.

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 1 - 01/03/14. Hazed orange amber with a good sized light beige covering that retains well. Nose is caramel, oxidised, woody, spice, light smoke. Taste follows pretty much the same as aroma, bready notes, a little paper, herbal tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.

Bottle, 75cl. 2002 vintage. It pours a clear, dark golden body and a small, off-white head. The aroma has a good deal of oxidation, with caramel, dried fruits and some canned pears. A faint spiced touch too. It’s full-bodied and quite carbonated, with caramel, mint and a some bitterness. It’s dry and medium bodied, with quite a lot of carbonation. Caramel and mint in the finish. Hasn’t kept very well this one, but it’s still quite interesting. 140301
