Keg at Exmouth Arms. It pours black with a small beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, earthy, squash, autumnal spice, liquorice, umami, earth and something meaty perhaps. The taste is dry, rich roasted malt, rather earthy, squash/pumpkin character, veg, charred wood, spice, treacle, mild acidity, plum, coffee grounds and ash with a drying and charred finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. I quite like the aroma, but the taste is rather dry and ashy. OK.
