Draft at GBBF 2013, day 3 - London. Pours dark brown with a light, beige cream head. Moderate vanilla pod aroma. Light sweet flavor with faint cocoa, more dry vanilla. Light in body with fine carbonation. Dry finish with more pleasant vanilla character, dark bread, light oily chocolate. Very tasty stuff.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2013, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Ridgeside Long Way From Home ].Clear medium to dark brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate - dark chocolate, sweet chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130813]

Cask @ GBBF 2013. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and vanilla aroma. Roasted malty vanilla and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and vanilla finish.

From cask. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted maly and lingering breadish. Bitter and dark malty to chocolate. Smooth malty, vanilla and roasted malty. Dry and bitter into the finish.

Cask, at GBBF 2013. It pours darkest brown with a small light tan head. The nose is earthy, light roast, toast, caramel, spice and a touch of smoke. The taste is earth, roasty, earth, caramel, mellow, decent bitterness, instant coffee, scortched earth and ash with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A solid stout.
