Espen Westum has nothing but love for the big beers. He has been involved in this beer as a homebrewer, and we asked him to come brew it with us. 31.5 Plato OG down to 10.7 FG—this beer has a huge flavor, a sweet but not cloying finish, and a super silky-smooth texture from the 60% wheat malts used in the wort.

Then, we split and aged this beast for over 1 year in a bourbon barrel and a rum barrel at Local. Now, we have recombined the barrels into one cursed beer that you will drink and love because it’s also a love potion too...

His homebrew was actually far better
But this one was also an ok evening sipper.

200ml draught at Gullkorn, kindly shared by Chris_Ofstad. Jet black in the glass, scattered lacing from a film-type layer. Pleasant on the nose with roasted chocolate malts, semi-dry. Well mixed taste of chocolate, oak, and dried fruits. Smoothly roasted malt-driven finish, moments of earthy chocolate. Oaky, and with warmth from the alcohol. Well bodied and not overly sweet. Good drinking. (Hamar, 15.03.2025).

Smaksprøve fra fat på Lervig Local: kastanjebrun med kort skum. Portvinsvinøs fra første øyeblikk - fiken, svisker, mørke bær, rosiner, mørke karamellsjokolader. Fint balanserende bitterhet og lang, velgjørende avslutning.
