Barley Wine & Imperial Stout Blend
In many ways lil' William Shakespeare was a happy child. Growing up in Stratford-upon-Avon in Elizabethan times as the oldest son of a fairly well-off family of commoners meant a full stomach every day and the privilege of attending the local King’s New School, instead of working in the dirty wool trade as most of his peers had to. School life came easy for young Will, and being quite a dreaming soul, he would every so often play truant from school to go lie in the nearby Welcombe Hills, thinking up stories that many years later would be turned into famous plays and sonnets. One late summer day Will was surprised by a hailstorm and had to escape to a nearby forest. And that’s where he encountered a most horrific looking four-eyed demon. This gruesome creature had strange wooden antlers, held a shining scepter and was dressed in a cult-like fashion as some sort of a Roman pontiff. Young Will ran, and didn’t stop until he reached the safety of The Garrick Inn, where the much surprised innkeeper heard the boy’s tale of a demon, now baptized as ‘Barbason The Beast’ in William’s already vivid imagination. For many hundred years the strongest and most frightening beer at The Garrick Inn was called ‘Barbason The Beast’, a beer we have now brought back to life.
This beer is a collaboration made with Sofia Electric Brewing, Sofia, Bulgaria.
Ingredienser: Vand. Bygmalt: Pilsner, Maris Otter, Cara-Munich 2, Crystal T50, Chocolate, Roasted Barley, Melanoidin. Brown sugar. Humle: Columbus. Gær: US-Ale, UK-Ale.

Thanks Henrik! More or less black colour with a small brown head. Aroma is biscuity, some chocolaty, mild dried fruity tones with toffee and mild nutty tones to it. Flavour is nutty, chocolaty, some toffeeish tones with dried fruits and mild alcohol sweetness also. Still very sippable and enjoyable.

Can. Split with SirA. Pours amber Brown with a small head. Dark fruit, molasses, slight roast. Earthy. Full bodied. We had a evil twin blend earlier which had a barrel treatment but certainly just another level. This was solid though. 3.6

Can courtesy of HP, shared with Hrabren and Ogi. Very dark brown body, off-white head. Creamy aroma, heaps of berries, light chocolate, lightly spicy. Smooth taste, creamy, dried fruit and blueberries in the taste, malty notes, low bitterness, very well balanced, well hidden alcohol in general. Very, very good stuff!
