[Keg at Zerodegrees Reading] Amber with a moderate cream head and a middling amount of fizz.grass & honey on the nose, but on tasting there’s mroe than a hint of raisins. Nutty digestive biscuit malt comes through with floral hints and a little buzz of ginger. With the rich mouthfeel, sweetness & the alcohol content there’s a touch of dessert wine about this beer, but fortunately the sweetness is balanced with noble hops coming through in the dry and mildly bitter finish. Although the flavours are mellow rather than strident, there’s still plenty of complexity here, and it’s a well-balanced beer that’s a pleasure to drink. ZeroDegrees (at least the Reading branch) have definitely been getting better at their specials of late.
