[Cask fom the brewer’s own stand at the Thame Food Festival] My first green hop beer, apparently grown from self-seeded wild hops at the brewery. Light amber with a slight white head. Leafy nettle, a little lemon and some blackberry leaf give a rather grubby overall flavour. Chiltern have as usual got a decent mouthfeel, but flavourwise this is not one of their better beers I’m afraid.

Cask handpump at The Kings Head, Aylesbury, Bucks, Saturday 22nd September 2012 Pours amber with a light filmy head, good clarity, golden glints eminating from body of beer in the early autumn sun. Light malty and fresh nose, hoppy but not overly so, middling bitterness, its fine but touch safe, in fact very safe, if you’re going to use locally grown fresh English hops then use plenty.
