[Cask at the Cross Keys, Thame] Having bought and started this in the pub, I finished it in the microbrewery out the back with beautiful malty smells wafting around me as Peter sparged his next brew - a wonderful way to enjoy a beer! The beer itself pours near-black with a negligible loose beige head. It has good flavours of chocolate, nuts and roasted malt, with the roastiness lingering in my mouth for nearly as long as the smell of malt lingered in my clothes! A really good mild at a really good brewpub - I hope I can get up here again to try some of the other brews (although I’d be quite happy to have this excellent mild again!

Cask Handpump at The Crosse Keys (brewpub) Thame, Oxon, 18-12-09 This beer appeared to be named after the pub cat, the pumpclip image certainly bore a striking resemblance to a cat strolling around this pub. Pours dark brown with a creamy textured off-white head. The aroma is rich, roasty and nutty and this is also replicated in the mouth. There is a nice gentle fruitiness but nuts also show again, really smooth and creamy a good mild. I understand from discussions with Peter Landlord/Brewer that this is the first Mild that he has ever brewed, top marks to him as I think that he may have just slipped into his signature beer, it was excellent.
