Cask @ Castle Hotel, Manchester. Copper-red with a small head. Has a good mix of earthy-sweet malts and hops, with certainly a few more of the former. There’s lots of sweetness with very palatable berry-fruits throughout its character.

Hand pull cask at Ye Olde Mitre, Holborn. Amber/brown, completely flat. Crystal malt, sour cherry, grass aroma with a hint of pine. Sweet taste that allows the fruity hop to shine. Long sweet lip-smacking finish. Despite the flat body, this has a lovely, full, syrupy mouthfeel. Suggestion of dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Very tasty.

Bottle at home picked up from the Chesham brewery shop. Reddish copper coloured pour with a lasting cream coloured cap. Aroma is woody bark, maple, earthy, some summer berryand light pine hop. Clean yeast profile maybe cal ale. Flavour is composed of nutty, light caramel, spritzy raspberry, earthy mapel and summer berries. Palate is medium light bodied, spritzy carbonation, perhaps a little too much carbonation. Little chalk in the water profile. Drying in the finish. Lingering raspberry, and maple

Cask-conditioned at the Grove, Ealing 31/10/2014. Deep amber in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Sweetish, malty beer, with some berry fruits, caramel and a citrus hop kick. Pleasant.

Bottle. A dark amber colored beer topped by a small, beige head leaving some lacings. The aroma is lightly roasted, with nuttyness, caramel and a nice resiny and grapefruity hoppyness. Caramel, some roasted malts and nuts, as well as a nice bitterness in the flavor, with grassy, piney and resiny hop flavor. Full body, pleasant carbonation, quite dry on the palate. Lasting finish with caramel, bread and some dried fruits, and quite a lot of hoppy flavors. Nice indeed, especially like the use of hops. 140816
