On tap at magic tree and vintage. Milk stout? Quite strong fer a milky. Yes, comes on like an impy fer sure. Yes feels like 6% but is over 7%. Big and blac. smells like decent milk stout but thats were the similarities end. Constantly wants to be an impy. Flat and the finsh is impy stout too, don’t let the style fool.

Sample at the Big Tap In on 04/21/2012. Pours inky black with a wispy tan head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and a touch of coffee. Medium body with a roasty character and notes of sweet chocolate malt and mild coffee. The finish is short and sweet with a mocha aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured thick, black and a touch oily with a medium sized creamy dark brown head that left some lacing. The aroma was dryish, roasty, woody and bitter. The flavor was very roasty and wood with a strong bitter coffee presence and undertones of toasty, nut, mint and floral hops. The finish was long, dry, bitter and roasty with lingering coffee. Thick and creamy body. Solid.

Bomber. So this sat in the fridge for a couple of weeks while I was away on Christmas vacation and still hasn’t been added to the database. Surprised, I added it and settled in for a winter stout session. Pour is dark and thick with a little bit of head and sweet and dark aromas. Chocolate and cream dominate, with a little bit of a burnt edge to them. Flavor is maybe a little sweeter than I would normally care for, but it’s decent. Lots of chocolate and cream throughout with a little bit of an autumn leaves and wet soil edge to the whole thing. It is fairly viscous and leaves a thick and just slightly warm sweetness across the palate. This is pretty darn good stuff and it is good to see the new guy in town continuing to churn out decent brew.
