750ml bottle. Jet black colour with a thin layer of macropore brown bubbles. Peaty, smoky, leather and shoe polish notes of Islay BA. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, minimally tart, some typical Islay BA peat and leather notes; soft carbo, but not totally insipid. Not good, but a better one of the series.

Black, beige head. Aroma of oak, wood, vanilla, soy sauce, smoke. Light malty flavour, soy, wood. Rather astringent. Finish wood and ash.

Bottle at wpbf. Opaque black color, good brownish head. Strong islay whiskey aroma. Light-bodied. Heavily carbonated. Harsh and tart flavor with some peat. Aroma was good, the flavor was not.

Bottled at Petalax Beer Festival Black, rich beige head. Hugely peaty smoky nose. Mid dry with acrid, chalky mouthfeel and medium-full body. Lemony and chalky, medicinal and peppery. Pretty awful.

Aroma has strong and nice islay whisky tones. Rather foamy palate. Very salty flavour with soy sauce and some licorice. Feels acrid. Finishes with some mellow islay whisky tones. Aroma was promising but...

Bottle shared during the RBESG London 2014 Sunday Tasting. Pours clear, black-brown with a brown head. Big peat nose with heavy char. Light-medium sweet flavor with light char, earthy bitterness, bitter burnt wood, light tangy dark berries. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Tangy, old wood finish with more char, peat and heavy dryness. So so.

RBESG pt 19. Craft Clerkenwell. Grandish Tasting. Thanks to Leighton for this one. Opaque dark brown beer, no real head. Palate is dry with modest carbonation. Tangy dark malts, very tangy, bordering sour. TCP throughout. Finishes dry. TCP linger. Weird.
