Bij Brouwerij Het Anker zijn ze zeer streng op de manier van eikenhouten vaten bewerken. Hier hebben ze hun eigen methodes voor. Zo garanderen zij hun verfijnde whiskey met een volle en evenwichtige smaak.
Wij hebben een prachtige barley wine gebrouwen en 6 maanden laten rijpen in Het Anker whiskey barrels. Hierdoor krijgt het bier diepe en warme tonen van karamel, vanille en eik. De whiskey barrels zorgen voor een mooie complexiteit aan het stevige moutkarakter van het bier. Hierdoor krijg je een mooie volle en zachte smaakbeleving, ideaal om rustig van te genieten.
This year we aged our beautiful barley wine in Het Anker whiskey barrels. This gives the beer deep and warm notes of caramel, vanilla and oak. The whiskey influence adds a nice complexity to the firm malt character of the beer. This gives you a nice full and smooth taste experience, ideal for quiet enjoyment.

Helder robijn rood bier zonder schuim. Smaak is warm en krachtig zoet met een heel zachte whiskey smaak, wat vijgen, druiven, toffee en wat vanille. Samen met de krachtige geur is dit een heel goed bier.

Deep mahogany brown with a beige cap that soon escapes to the edge.
Nose is stewed fruits, mellow whisky nip, oak barrel, vinous, light booze, caramel.
Taste comprises figgy jam, toffee, whisky barrel, spice, dark malts, spice, fruit slice.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light kiss of alcohol.
Mellow easy drinking BA Life.

Can at home, from Sterk I think, 7th March 25. Pours a dark brown and mostly clear. Aroma is dark fruits, toffee, barrel. Taste is rich, dark fruits and toffee, light molasses, wood and barrel, sweet, but tempered. Good one

Can. Clear deep amber - brown beer, very short lived bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a little cream and a little more caramel and toffee, none of it that sweet. Booze is obvious in the mid with a warming spice. The Het Anker barrels deliver big ripe fruits and a touch of esters. Smooth finish. Nice. I think this will round off very nicely over the course of several years.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before December 2028. Hazy, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Intensely sweetish-malty, gently fruity and slightly boozy aroma of molasses, caramel, soy sauce, whisky, vanilla, raisins and prunes. Rather sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently fruity and quite boozy taste of molasses, caramel, soy sauce, vanilla, lots of whisky, raisins, prunes, light chocolate and a touch of lovage, followed by a long, gently bitter, quite boozy and a little woody finish. Full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Lovely beer, super intense, very prominent but also very inviting barrel flavours. Very good, cracking beer.
