Dark brown, bubbly head. Big chocolatey nose. Soft body, mostly just heavy chocolate and is fairly sweet. Not sure how different this is from regular Dark Star. The cask makes it slicker and flatter than is good for it.

On tap at R & B, pours black with a medium tan creamy head. Aroma brings out the cocoa nibs upfront, followed by medium roast. Flavour is very chocolatey, with bitter dark cocoa upfront, followed by medium roasted barley in back to provide a big backbone. I think the addition works and the carbonation is higher than most casks, which makes everything a little more expressive. Solid.

Cask at the brewery taproom
Dark brown color, almost black. Off dry and weak, luckily it has some carbonation and it’s quite cold, but the base beer has an earthy character that is further highlighted by the cocoa.
Quite chocolatey overall. Not too bad.
