Smoky Tea + Bruléed Sugar
A beautiful black stout with an enormous amount of smoked malt to produce a delicious flavour reminiscent of Lapsang Souchong tea. A staggeringly smooth and smokey sweetness radiates through the beer, evocative of being warmed around the campfire on an autumnal evening. The malt is smoked over open beech log fires giving a distinctive yet mellow smokey character. We love to drink this beer whilst eating slow-cooked pork or barbecue dishes, where the smokey flavours play alongside each other and the body of the beer matches nicely to the rich meat. Or, for something more unusual, try it alongside a creme brulee where it will be a winning partner to the burnt sugar.

0,75l bottle at Brauwerk Tasting shared by Sebilinz, many thanks. BB not readable, Sebilinz thinks it could be over BB date. dark brown color, very big tan head. smells smoked, bacon, leather, bit of puke, light sweetness, nice smell. medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes smoky, lightly sour, creamy, some sweetness, coffee, spices, also some bitterness (piney), earthy. finishes with light sweetness, earthy notes and light bacon. good stuff, nicely balanced, great creamy mouthfeel. could drink all day.

Bottle from Cocktails, Littleborough. Practically black with a thin off-white head. Has light roasted malts with smoked aroma and flavour, although again this is quite light allowing a small sweetness to come through as well. Quite fizzy in the palate.

Bottle from Blue Glass, Bedford. Pours very dark, almost black. Lots and lots of tan head. Aroma of of woodsmoke, coal, espresso, sweet iced tea. Taste is molasses sweet with a tiny hint of bitter in the finish. Tannic bittersweet aftertaste. Palate is gorgeous with maybe a tad too much carbonation. Very, very good. Incredible even. I could drink this all night.

75cl bottle. Appearance - like cola but with a big frothy head. Bit of a gusher though. Nose - intensely smoky with a chocolate undertone. Taste - more chocolate than with the nose. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - interesting beer that is also quite elegant.

750ml bottle, cheers Ash! Pours deep dark brown, enormous tan head, over-carbonated to be honest. Difficult pour. Aromas are smoked, nearly rauchbeir territory. Taste is meaty smoke at first, resolving to chocolate sweetness, then smoke at the back. Interesting.
