375ml from Spirits of Mt. Seymor @ home shared with Andrey. Appearance: a bit hazy straw with a white head. Aroma: weird lacto notes, like a yogurt, some slight peppery notes. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: this one tastes like a very old Belgian saison, meh.

Finally a day with some July summery weather! Burdock July 6.1% 375ml bottle served in a tulip at cellar temperatures. This bottle-conditioned saison is a soft gold with a wheat flake aromawith honeycomb and white pepper notes but the wheat dominates. Very soft bodied with a round carbonation. The taste is chewy wheat with some cloves, pepper and something wine like that evokes Nelson Sauvin to me. A year old and tasty but I think the Burdock Three held up better and had more complexity.

Hazy and pale. On the nose, fruity like banana and pineapple maybe, and a little bit yeasty. On the palate, about the same. Off-dry. It's ok, but does not strike me as special. Sort of a classic take on saison, but the problem with that is that it's at twice the price of Dupont, so why would I buy this again?
