[handpump at the Oakford Social Club, Reading] Somewhat bizarrely, the pump clip suggested this one one of a series of monthly special beers named after footballers haircuts?! Bright gold, minimal head. Faint hoppy aroma. Taste initially very bitter, some egginess, a lot of hops, but by the end this is tasting as light as the ABV suggests. All round this is on the poor side of average - yet another monthly special that has the feeling of a rebranding of a failed batch. I’m pretty disappointed that this was my landmark 200th beer. NOTE: looked like a golden ale, but tasted like a bitter, so have classified it as the latter.
