Dark and sweet with chocolate, coffee and vanilla notes. Brewed with a Brazilian coffee bean, selected and roasted by Pumphreys of Newcastle to complement and enhance these flavours. 100% pure cocoa powder, lactose and whole vanilla pods are used in this luxurious stout.

28/7/2018. Can at Højbjerg tasting. Pours almost black with a tan coloured head. Aroma of chocolate, lactose, hops, vanilla, dark fruit, roasted coffee and malt. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, slick texture, very soft carbonation. Nice.

Can @ Højbjerg tasting 28 July. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and coffee, with notes of yeast and chocolate. Sweetish flavour of chocolate, lactose and malt, with roasty, coffeelike notes and touches of yeast and hops. Roasty and chocolatey aftertaste. A really nice one.

Can. Creamy off-white good lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Average light bitter finish. Oily palate.

Can @Højbjerg Tasting. Nearly black, beige head. Roast and coffee aroma. Sweet flavour, chocolate, vanilla, sweet coffee flavour. Nice.

Can @ Højbjerg tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich roast malt, chocolate, hops, coffee, vegetables, caramel and has a nice sweet vanilla finish.

Can @ Saxo tasting. Almost black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, heavy coffee and vegetables. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and roasted moderate bitter finish. Soft. 280718

(Cask at Craft Beer Co St Mary Axe, London, 26 Nov 2015) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with sweet coffee, liquorice and dark fruit. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, liquorice, dark fruit, vanilla and a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, fairly sweet. On the sweet side, but quite tasty. Nice one.

Cask at holyrood 9a. Sweet roast chocolate nose, sweet milky bitter coffee taste, some sour tartness.

Keg at The Barton Arms; dark brown pour with a creamy light tan head, big cocoa powder aroma, taste has chocolate milkshake, light coffee, dark fruits, really creamy mouthfeel, some bitterness and some burnt toast malts.
