Leeds Beer Festival 2015. Very dark with an off-white head. Has a very sweet and overpowering aniseed aroma and taste that’s towards medicinal levels of flavour.

Cask (handpump) @ NWAF 2013, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.Clear light dark black brown color with a average, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, licorice - anis seed, moderate chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long duration, licorice, anis seed, a bit like a "Nordsø olie", cough medicine (hostesaft), candy - "Konge af Danmark". Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130124]

NWAF 24 Jan 13. ekstremt mørkebrun / svart. Litt lagskum. Aroma av hostesaft: Masse lakris. God - men uvanlig. Smaken er hostesaft & Kongen av Danmark. Håpløst som øl men bringer fram gamle minner.

Handpulled cask served from bar 2 at NWAF. Half, shared with Finn. Coal dark coloured body. Missing head. Inviting sweet liquorice drops to the nose. Dry liquorice taste, lightly spiced. Slightly roasted ending. Ok (Manchester, 24.01.2013).

Cask gravity at Nottingham BF 2007. Black, dark brown edges, no head. Slightly sour, roasted malt aroma. No great condition. Thickish mouthfeel. Nice enough, dark malts, but very dull condition.
