We're incredibly humbled to be given priority access to the freshest, newly released hop varietals by our incredible hop merchants here at Polly's HQ - a sign of where we feel we've come from and where we're heading in the future as a brewery; being one of the flagbearers for modern UK brewing and repping Wales on a global stage. It sent us into no end of giddiness to find out about a new hop freshly released from the USDA Hop Breeding programme - Vista. With notes of fleshy pear, ripe honeydew and melange of sweet tropical flavours, we were advised the best thing to pair with this incredible varietal would be a classic C hop - step forward the very lifeblood of the brewery, Citra.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy golden body with a white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lemon sponge and peach. Flavour of lime, grapefruit and straw. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A tasty beer. On this evidence Citra and Vista (a new hop for me) combine very well.

Tap at mad Squirrel watford. A milky gold coloured pour with a lasting sticky white head. Aroma is creamy wheat, lime, apple, green citrus, opal fruits sponge. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, creamy wheat, maybe a little lactose, pear drops, opal fruits, little weird. Pop rock candy. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, creamy, mellow carbonation ok,

Can. Hazy yellowish gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Nose is hop skunk and lesser ripe citrus. Palate is light and very mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts still impart a nice light level of creamy sweetness. Hops bring a persistent nibbly hop spice. A nice array of hop fruits here, I can see Citra and Vista being natural bedfellows. Citra does what it always does the Vista adding a melony tropical fruit richness, trace of pear. Soft pine throughout as is a well integrated savoury skunk. The light finish finds the hop spice getting a little more aggressive. Really nice APA, everything I want from a dipa but in APA form.
