Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2016. Almost black in colour, with a slight, beige, head. Aroma of sweetish, dark fruits, roasted malts, and a some leafy hops. Flavour had more toasty malts, a touch of blackcurrant and moderately dry finish. Good.

24th March 2016: cask third of a pint in a Shrewsbury Wetherspoons. Dark as the name suggests, it’s black, the head a full tanned affair. Decent malt domination with coffee notes to the fore in both the nose and taste: liked it.

On cask @ the Standing Order. Appearance - dark brown to black with a nice fawn head. Nose - light chocolate and charcoal. Classic dry stout. Taste - more of the same and add liquorice. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a nicely balanced finish. Overall - yep, good beer.

Cask at the Tilly Shilling (JDW), Farnborough. Glossy black with a loose beige head; aroma of coffee grounds; sweet, fruity, licorice taste with a touch of salt; then a dry finish with some crisp grassy hops. Better than I was expecting.
