Bottle at Chriso tasting, thanks Anders37, 18/11/12. Jet black with a thin dirty coffee head that clears to the edge of the glass. Nose is very dark roast malts, bitter chocolate, strong whiff of molasses, touch of booze. Tastes of mineral tones, chocolate, dark malts, a little coffee and some booze bringing up the rear. Fullish in body, soft carbonation. Decent.

Medium to big sweet flavor with some earthy bitterness, dark chocolate, alcohol and light tang. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming finish with burnt earth, dark chocolate, moderate roast, burnt sugars. Not bad.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 5 Oct 2012) Black colour with foamy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with honey, coffee, dark chocolate and a touch of liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of honey, burnt sugar, coffee, chocolate and dark rye bread. Almost full body, fairly sweet, with a touch of bitterness. Not sure if this is a mead in the porter style or a porter in the mead style (since it’s a braggot it’s probably both), but whatever it is, it’s very nice.
