Bottle from Jopen. Aroma is smoke, roasted malt, bourbon, oak, some vanilla and chocolate, ash. Wouldn't be a Jopen beer without some liquorice. Flavour is medium sweet with a mild roasty bitterness. Body is above medium. Nice balance between the Bourbon barrels and the base beer. Body could be more full but eh... Good stuff!

Black with a minimal light brown head. A good smoke aroma, with some dried fruit sense. Bittersweet with a smoke, malt finish.

330ml bottle, 10 % abv, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. A few bubbles on the surface of a deep dark brownish body, scattered lacing. Inviting peaty aromas with chocolate malts. Well blended taste of dark chocolate, peat, prunes, and toffee, oaky. Bourbon hints to a smoked malty finish. Sipper qualities, still quite easy to drink. Very nice. (Tromsø, 22.05.2024).

Drukket på Bergstua. Svart. Middels høyt lysebrunt skum som raskt blir film. Heftig aroma av bourbon. Innslag av sjokolade. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken lett fruktig. Mere bourbon. Røkt torv. Tørr avslutning. Kakao. Bra - men mere bourbon enn øl.

Bottle @ home. Clear, dark brown, almost black body under a fast disappearing beige head. Aroma of smooth roasted dark malt, Bourbon, wood, mild smoke and hint of peat. Taste is in the same direction, smooth, sweet, mild roasted dark malt, sweer Bourbon, wood, hint of vanilla, peat, toffee and warming alcohol. Balanced bitterness. Fine balanced body with long lasting aftertaste. Very nice.

Sort med beige topp som forsvinner raskt, legger seg rundt kanten. Aroma; bourbon, eik, kaffe, sjokolade, hint av vanilje, plomme. Smak; kaffe, sjokolade, bourbon, eik, røyk, plomme, vanilje, alkohol, kokos, mørk karamell. Myk munnfølelse. Sterk. Balansert fyldig smak. Lang ettersmak. Spandert av Djoeye. Delt med Leif og Djoeye.

330mL bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of low-quality Jim Beam bourbon barrels, medium roast, and a touch of smokiness. Flavour is quite smoky, plenty of Jim Beam bourbon barrels, and medium roast. Not a fan of the barrels, but the base beer is solid.

dark brown colour, around half inch of creamy beige head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla, liquorice, some soy sauce, blueberry, coffee, whisky and plum notes; taste has the same notes as can be felt in the aroma with syrupy-hot chocolate-like sweetness, burnt bitterness and spicy-chili peppery aftertaste; just simply amazing!

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is smoky, wood, soy sauce, vanilla, toffee, spice, taste is similar, chewy, a little green apple.
