Bottle at home, picked up from the Cock, 28/12/13. Hazed orange golden with a moderate off white covering that dissipates to a swirl and edgework. Nose is floral, light spice, herbal qualities, elderflower well evident. Taste comprises Orange pith, elderflower, straw, light pepper, ginger, pinch of spice, madarin. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light bitter notes and spice in the closure. Nice stuff for the style, carries a lot more depth of flavour than most!

Bottle at home, 7th December. Elderflower comes through, fairly watery sort if beer, not getting too much orange. Not great

Light haze on this gold beer, decent white head. Palate is softish and sweet. Mild fine carbonation. Very light orange and nice generic fruits blend well with semi sweet floral flavours! Finishes light and airy and turns a little thin, otherwise very nice indeed.

330ml bottle. Cloudy pale yellowish golden colour with average, frothy, collapsing, white head. Spicy yeasty, fruity wheaty aroma, hints of elder. Taste is minimally tart and minimally sweet fruity, minimally spicy yeasty, a floral touch, some elderflower; prickling carbonation. Nice.

Keg at the Cock Tavern - Hackney, London. Pours cloudy gold with a creamy white head. Lightly effervescent. Doughy malts in the nose, some herbs and flowers, a bit of bready wheat. Medium sweet flavor with doughy wheat, some flowery notes, perhaps a bit of green bell pepper, white sugar, white bread. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Ever so slightly syrupy. Sweet, lightly sticky finish with bread, light wheat and yeast, honey, some ripe orange, herbal flowers. Interesting stuff but does sit a bit heavy on the palate, which I don’t really like in a witbier.
