cloudy red amber brown, smooth light brown head. Very nice head. Malty and nutty aroma. flavor is malty, very faint tart, vineous notes, whatever hops are used are used for bitterness rather than taste, caramel, malts, woody vineuous notes and alc. is dominant. taste is sort of like an english style barley wine. Many finer notes in the brew. Quite complex.

Orangebrun klar med lavt beige skum. Brent karamell, krydder og alkohollukt. Søte smaker av mørke frukter og sirup. Litt portvin. Lett til å være 9%. Noe bitterhet i avslutningen. Lite kullsyre

Bottle. Deep copper liquid with small off-white head. Aroma of raw sugar, caramel, bread, toffee, port wine and dried fruit. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of toffee and caramel. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty nice.

50cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours hazy dark amber with a beige head. Malty aroma with dark dried fruits, caramel and some hoppy notes, citrus mostly and hints of red berries. Quite sweet and caramelly with some acidity and a fairly decent bitterness. Certainly decent stuff, but not quite my thing and way too sweet.

Bottle at home. One year old. Pours a cloudy dark nut brown colour with a small, light beige head. Aroma of dried fruit, fruity hops, caramel, maple syrup and brown sugar. The flavour has more wood, cola, leather and roasted malt. Has a silky and rich mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A complex, round and balanced ale.

500mL bottle poured into a tulip. Deep brown to mahogany, cloudy, medium off white head, good lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, dark fruit-plums maybe raisins, some resiny hop notes. Flavor is the same with the addition of strawberries, other tropical fruits. Finish is overly sweet, malty, some bitterness. Overall enjoyable, the addition of the fruity character was a nice change, but the sweetness became cloying.

Brown, with beige head. Sweet cherries and toffee in aroma. Cherries, chocolate, toffee and good desert wine in taste, with a slightly sour sting. Round mouthfeel.

Bottle at Beer Hunters. Hazy amber color, good off-white head. Woody and berryish aroma, a bit toffeish. Even Earthy. Medium-bodied. Berryish, strawberry, red currant, toffee Sweetish and kind of messy. I don’t get an idea of this brew.
