Twice Checked Chocolate Cherry Porter

This porter poured a deep black colour with a creamy, medium brown coloured head. Beautiful lacing. Scents include dark chocolate, smoke and molasses. First swig was a welcome, slightly thin. Flavours of dark chocolate, caramel and a hint of cherries. Finish is burnt with a good helping of chocolate lingering.

Looks like cola pouring from the can with a big creamy-frothy beige cap that goes down very slowly and leaves a little creamy-spotted lacing. Lots of chocolate and cocoa powder in the nose, over the roasted malts. Hints of spices, nuts, vanilla and earthiness. There is a slight cherry sour kick at first in the flavours, but the chocolate and roasted malt are mostly taking over. Not too sweet. Definitely roasty. Light cherry notes blended in all of this pretty good porter. Until next year !
