Ruys is de achternaam van de grootvader van Jan Adriaenszoon Leeghwater; Symon. Symon Ruys hield zich in de 16e eeuw al bezig met de ambacht van het bierbrouwen. Vanuit De Rijp werkte hij toen vast al aan een goed gedryhopped bier: een techniek destijds niet gebruikt voor het toevoegen van aroma, maar voor de houdbaarheid. In de 21e eeuw is Ruys een verfrissend en geurig witbier boordevol tropisch fruit. Denk daar nog een IPA-bittere afdronk bij, en laat het genieten met een grote G beginnen. On tap at NHBF'18. Hazy pale yellow colour, white head. Aroma of citrus, light hoppy, some tropical fruits, wheat. Flavour is light, wheat, light hoppy, citrus, light fruity, bitter finish. Light bodied.

7 3 7 3 14Draft at The Hague festival ‘18. Clear pale golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, wheat, grain and light grassy notes. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and bitter. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at NBPF. Slight hazy pale yellow with white head. Light lime, citrussy hops, dry malts, soft lemon, wheat, light dusty and mineral. Just medium sweet and bitter, light tart. Under medium bodied with a bit fizzy carbonation.

Tap at Grote Kerk. Hazy pale golden with white head. Sweet malts, grain, grass. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation.

Gedronken tijdens Bierfestival in Den Bosch . Bleek wit bier . Aroma van hop. Smaak en nasmaak is hoppig maar plat.

Geprobeerd met Inoven en Benzai op het Nederlands Speciaalbier festival in den Bosch. Het is een troebel geel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een frisse hoppige geur. De smaak is fris, citrus en hoppig.

Bottle from Bierkonig. Cloudy gold with a full head. Aroma of fruity wheat. Flavour is citrus fruit, wheat, tangy bitter citrus, long dry tart citrus finish, grain and chaff malt.

0.33 l fles van 'Sterk Avondverkoop', gebottled in october 2017. Licht troebele, bijna stevige, witte schuimkraag. Licht zoet, fruitig-grazig en licht harsig aroma van mango, passievrucht en wat grapefruit. Licht zoete, matig bittere, nogal fruitige, grasige en licht harsige smaak van mango, passievrucht, wat grapefruit en toetsen van zeep, gevolgd door een korte, matig bittere, grasige en licht harsige afdronk. Medium body, zacht en licht bruisend mondgevoel, weinig koolzuur. Eerder een Wheat IPA dan een White IPA, veerder goed drinkbaar, niet echt bijzonder maar ook niets mis mee.
