Opaque black beer, thin brown head. Smooth silky palate. Smooth dark malt with a lovely balance of sweet coconut, subtle vanilla, sublte oak and coffee. Traces of chocolate and red berry fruits. Smooth oak rounded bourbon. All flavours in really good balance. A fantastic BA Stout.

2008 bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Opaque dark brown-black body, thin large-bubbled tan head. Soft, layered bourbon nose with vanilla, coconut, toast, and molasses. Soft round bourbon/molasses body, buttery with vanilla, coconut, toasted sugars, and alcohol. Quite good but flat.

bottle (2007) - Drank last summer - Pours black with a small tan head and smells of chocolate malt, bourbon, and a hint of coffee. The flavor is strong roast chocolate malt with ample bourbon presence that avoids being overwhelming. It’s full bodied with light carbonation and a smooth palate. The age is doing well by this brew. Very tasty.

2007 Vintage Bottle thanks to footbalm. Pours out dark brown topped with a tan head. Aroma was of molasses, dark roast, chocolate, and some brown sugar. Taste was more of the rich and sweetness. Along with a little spice and some pit fruit.

Sample from 2008 bottle from an unknown source at One Funky Afternoon at Jackie O’s on 04/02/2011: This brew pours black with a thing beige head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma is vinous with oak and vanilla notes. Rich body with flavors of oak, roasted malt and dark fruits. Touches of dark chocolate as well. The finish is malty with a dark fruity aftertaste. Above average overall.
