Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is the medicinal of islay - plasters, chocolate, smoke, soap, taste is like fairy liquid up front, really soapy, chocolate and peat in the finish. 0.375 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, best before December 2028. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty, rather smoky-medicinal and minimally fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, peat, iodine and some fruity whisky. Rather sweet, malty, quite roasty, fairly smoky-medicinal, slightly fruity taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, ash, peat, iodine, whisky, a touch of dark fruits and hints of green apple, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter, a little boozy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and a bit oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Good stuff, a bit raw maybe, rather intense and complex.
