American Style Barleywine aged for 9 months with amburana tree flakes and vanilla.
Green Head Antares Amburana Aged Barley Wine is a full-bodied, dark-colored beer that has matured in amburana wood barrels. It is characterized by a rich aroma of spices, caramel and oak notes, with delicate accents of vanilla. The taste has sweet notes of dried fruit, toffee and nuts, with a well-balanced bitterness. Thanks to its high alcohol content, it is strong and warming, ideal for long tasting on cold evenings. This is a unique beer for lovers of complex flavors.
This barleywine was aged for nine months, the last five of which were seasoned with exotic amburana wood flakes and Ugandan vanilla. Amburana, in large quantities, plays a key role here, transporting us to a spicy, cinnamon-like, and somewhat apple-pie atmosphere.

On tap at Hopito, pours a murky dark burgundy with a small beige head. Aroma has some herbal red fruits, caramel apple, and syrupy sugars. Flavour has plenty of red berries, plenty of bitterness, and a weird herbal character I assume is from the amburana oak chips. The base malts aren’t there to hold this together. Rather awkward; needs work.

01.10.2024 Ładny zapach cynamonu karmelu kruchego ciasta i drewna. Herbaciane, beżowa piana, zamglone, Smak melanoidynowe bardzo, gorzkie raczej taniczne, karmelowe, słodycz średnia. Nagazowanie niskie, ciało średnio wysokie, gumiaste, finisz jak w szarlotce, alkohol niewyczuwalny. Ogólnie amburana bardziej pasuje jednak do ciemnych piw ale tu jest ciekawy dodatkiem na pewno warto było spróbować
