Schweinbräu Märzen is a collaboration we brewed with the our close friends at 33 Acres Brewing.

Last year when Adam and Simon went to Europe to drink lagers and eat pork, Ben from 33 Acres highly recommended visiting Augustiner Bräu in Salzburg to drink their Märzen. We were not disappointed and this collaboration is an ode to that beer.

Brewed with a blend of Pilsner malts and Carahell and hopped with Hallertau Spalter Select. This Märzen is a light amber colour with crisp balanced bitterness. Extremely drinkable and layered with crackery malt character, a hint of honey, and earthy lemon hop notes.

Bright amber. Medium head. The aroma is on the sugary/caramel side with a slight toffee note. Slightly crackery, caramelly. Ok malt complexity, not super rich though. Medium bitterness leading to an off-dry finish.

6oz pour at Superflux. Pours clear pale gold with a minimal white head. Carrot bread on the nose? Flavour has boiled vegetables and soggy biscuits. The carbonation is high, which is the only redeeming quality of the beer. This is revolting.
