Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is dark malt with peat, oak, roast, chocolate, whiskey, alcohol, and a little sharpness from the barrel. Flavour is rather sweet with a moderate bitterness and some warming booze. Body is medium to full. Still nowhere near the old White Label lineup, but showing some promise of redemption.

Black colored, thick, medium- creamy tan head, not very lasting. Malty, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, molasses, medium+ sweet, some caramel, plenty of smokey whisky and light peat, oak, bit dark fruit, medium roasty bitterness. Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, creamy.

Bottle, black. Malt, roast, only a hint of peat. Raisin. Malty sweet, raisinny flavor with peat and whisky. Hint of vanilla. Caramel. Enjoyable.

deep dark brown colour, medium sizen dense beige head; aroma and taste of bourbon, licorice, dark chocolate, some burnt plum jam and smoked notes; great one!

Black with quick fading head. Aroma has plenty of malt sweetness. Flavour has bittersweet roasted malts and sweet whisky. There's a well rounded element of smoke and leather too. Very well balanced.

Zwart bier met weing schuim. Smaak is warm en licht zoet met iets van koffie, iets whiskey en kersen. Goed maar niet bijzonder.

Arômes Arômes francs et plaisants, équilibre plutôt bon, j'ai globalement passé un bon moment, ce qui est notable eu égard à d'autres Whilte Label. En intensité et en complexité on trouve mieux, cela dit, et c'est surtout le final qui nous laisse sur notre soif, celui-ci s’effondrant complètement après une troisième bouche de bonne facture. Sur le visuel, nous sommes sur une robe noire avec un mousse brune quasiment inexistante. Malgré ses 13 %, l'effervescence est très honnête. Au nez, c'est un trio café, chocolat, bourbon qui se présente. Franc, plaisant et bien équilibré. L'attaque reprend ce bon équilibre ; le bourbon n'étant pas trop présent, les arômes s'alliant bien, les 13 % ne se sentant pas de trop sans que le sucre soit surdosé d'ailleurs. La deuxième bouche est linéaire avec une arrière bouche à l'identique mais sur une bonne ampleur. La troisième bouche monte alors d'intensité en présentant quelques notes de fruits noirs. On s'attend alors à un final long, élancé mais patatras…notre barrel finish sonne aux abonnés absents...Dommage, l'histoire aurait pu être très belle, mais une histoire sans fin frustre quelque peu.

Tap at Foeders, 5th November 18. Pours black. Aroma of caramel and barrel, slight whiskey. Taste is smooth, chocolate, barrel, slight whiskey, damp wood. Pretty tasty, but falls short of the former Emelisse greatness.
