Bottle at home, 31/07/16. Clear golden amber with a well appointed off white covering. Nose is caramel malt, bitter orange, toasted grain, light spice, lemon rind, bubblegum, light bread tunes. Taste comprises rye bread, grapefruit shreds, orange peel, caramel malt, light biscuit notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, earthy hop bitterness on display in the close. Decent enough stuff for the ABV.

Many thanks to Rian for this bottle! Smooth grainy floral nose. The beer starts fresh, nice earthy dry malts with nice intense resin aroma there. The body is a bit earty and grainy, not too much sweetness. Round and dry. The aftertaste has too much grain, the hops are a bit in the background. Fresh and earthy hops, moderate bitterness, round and grainy.

Cask gravity at XT Brewery, Thursday 3rd March 2016 Pours mid amber, appears quite traditional in looks, more bitterness than expected, fruity and then dry, the Yakima hops certainly showing here. Unusual to see an Animal beer being brewed again, however I understand that this has been brewed primarily to be a new bottled Animal beer in late March, so unsure how many casks will get out of the brewery. Cask at the White Lion, Norwich. Dark gold bordering on amber, clear. Grain, yeast rolls, slight hint of whisky in the nose. Sweet spicy taste, heading toward a more pronounced bitterness in the finish. Very well done in spite of the name and pumpclip.
