Quite hazy, deep copper and bronze coloured body that shows a large, four to five centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat for a while, but is quite ugly and large-bubbled, but this is clearly not a 'pale' lager and easily shows as a Vienna. Aroma of metal, light malt, some astringent medicinal and funky grainy flavours along with a crisp lemon and citrus bite, but some alcohol shows up at the end in the nose as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong malty, grainy, earthy and floral flavours dominate here with a lot of strength and pungency in terms of the malts, yeast and alcohol with a slight medicinal twang towards the end that has some metallic elements and mineraly notes of iron and calcium. Aftertaste shows the alcohol, rich malts and strong astringent bitterness that also has some light hop aspects towards the end, but fairly straight-forward as a Vienna, not a 'pale' lager of any sort. Overall, a nice beer with a rich malty quality and some pungency throughout that makes this nice to sample and enjoy, even on colder days here. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from The Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 25-September-2020 for US$4,31 sampled at my house here in Washington on 07-January-2021.

Pours deep copper into a stein. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to mottle rim. Dark sourdough aromas. Medium bodied with sourdough and earth front to back. Lasting dirty soap, resin and pith finish.
