My 700th Pennsylvania beer rating. 12 ounce can. Bright amber orange pour. Pillowy white head. Very distinctive lacing. Earthy malt meets piney hops in the aggressive aroma. First sip reveals the true character of this brew. It a hop bomb! Bold notes of dank citrus and pine emerge immediately. Grapefruit, lime, honey, bitter orange and pine sap. It’s smooth and out there. Go get it!

Klare goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Hopfiger, fruchtiger, malziger Geruch. Geschmacklich hopfig, malzig, fruchtig mit Pinie, Citrus und Grapefruit. Mittlere Süße mit hoher Bitterkeit, voller Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Super clear coloured body, but a nice bright copper coloured body, with a thickish, two to three centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of crisp citrus fruits, apples, pears, light malt notes, some flowers and a dry herbal bite at the end. Medium-bodied; Grassy and dry, citrusey flavour at first with noticeable bitterness and alpha acids and a good cleanser-like bite that does show some alcohol warmth, but relatively clean-drinking and robust - very old school, very hoppy East Coast Imperial IPA-ey. Aftertaste is rich, but very hoppy, with the dry notes, alcohol, warmth, floral, grassiness that has a ton of alpha acids, but enough support from the malt, crisp dryness and alcohol warmth that makes this rich and enjoyable. Overall, a nice older school Imperial IPA from the East coast that hits the hops and bitterness nicely, while being balanced and flavourful and one dimensional, still. Great to try fresh and well-recommended, if you can find it of course! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Gettysburg Beer Mart in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on 12-May-2021 for US$4,99, canned on 12-February-2021, sampled at my house here in Washington on 07-June-2021.

Can from Libery Beer in Pittsburgh. Pours a clear gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates. Bright tangerine, pine and grapefruit aromas on the nose. Bit of earthiness, gooseberry and more grapefruit and pine on the palate. Great DIPA.

Four or five year-old bottle drunk 7/29/18.
Peachy-golden with rosy hues and deeper lemon yellows. Slight chill-haze with a small, but fairly dense, white head.
The nose is somewhat as expected, showing light caramel and plentiful honey with apparent but heavily faded hops (wasn't expecting any, actually) that give off a strong marmalade-like character. Clean, seemingly dry and showing little/no oxidation, definitely no bad oxidation anyways. Alcohol is well-concealed. It's basically a barleywine at this point, with a good citrus character and no heavily sugary malts or hot, messy, sharp alcohol.
In the mouth it fares basically the same. Soft, malty texture shows appropriate, high attenuation, while malts give off light caramel, touches of bread and moderate honey-like notes. Spicy citrus still remains, yet it shows very low bitterness at this point. Not terribly interesting, mostly on account of the low yeast character, simple malt bill and faded hops, but it's clean and drinkable.
