Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours deep brown with a fluffy, tan head. Gorgeous beer, lots of nicely ripened berries, plums, dates, raisins, some caramel, a little toasted wood, vanilla, mellow alcohol, toasted wheat. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with active, massaging carbonation. Lightly warming finish, a little sticky, more jammy berries, figs and dates, caramel and toffee, a hint of woody tang, subtle earthy bitterness. Great depth and nuance. Exceptionally drinkable for the strength and style. Quite impressive.

Bottle from Left Field Beers, Solihull. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Treacle toffee, toffee apple, caramel, lots of red fruit in the nose. Taste is nutty caramel, toffee apple, dried fruit, spiced red fruits, definite notes of sherry cask. Big alcohol burn. Most vinous. Warming, enticing beer. Very nice indeed.
