Opaque dark brown - black beer with a good tan head. Palate is quite minerally crisp. Tangy dark malts and fruity whisky, touch of smoke. Mild whisky spice. Trace of coffee and dark chocolate before a crisp finish. Rich and light of palatd but overall too tangy to get me really going.

33cl bottle from Vino. Appearance - opaque black with a thin froth which disappears. Nose - slight liquorice but definitely Speyside barrels are the dominant aroma. Taste - strangely it seems dominated by the orangey note from the Speyside barrel. It’s too much really and there is only a hint of dark chocolate and coffee on the end. Palate - incredibly sweet but gnarly on the end too, so not very balanced. Overall - some benefit of doubt given in scoring because I wonder if the bottle is perhaps a little old.

Bottled. A ink black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, roasted malt, wood, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, whiskey, iodine, malt, peated smoke, and roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted finish.

330ml bottle, 503 of 636. Pours black with a thin head. Aroma is blackcurrant Lockers, iodine, some coffee underneath. Taste is low, some blackcurrant, iodine, not much comes through. Carbonation is too low, pretty flat. Pretty poor.
