The Sweet Gale provides a spicy, honey-sweet, full and airy character of Swedish forests and bogs. Aromatic scent with fruitiness, red berries, honey tones and discreet musky nuances. Dry and fresh taste with tones of deep pine forests. Goes with anything from fried steak with onions and forest mushrooms to a classic, gratinated onion soup with sourdough bread or saltier cheeses – perfect with goat cheeses.

Bottle courtesy of Emma. Pours hazy orange with a rather big frothy and creamy offwhite head that leaves lots of sticky lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly malty and herbal with caramel, grass, liquorice root, moist soil, moss and lemon zest. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, malty and herbal with caramel, bread, liquorice root, moist soil, moss, minerals and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny cloying and medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet and tiny bitter with caramel, moist soil, moss, grass and lemon zest. Weird but ok…

Bottle. Pours amber with a big white head. Nice aroma of citrusy hops, yet dissapointing since i expected herbs... Sweet brew with a herbal bitterness.

Bottle shared at the chriso 2013 pre-GBBF shindig - London. Pours hazy gold with a mild, white cream head. The nose is all ginger and lime. Light sweet flavor with prevalent lime and lightly dried pale malts. Light in body with average carbonation and creamy texture. Yet more lime and ginger to finish with faint citrus rind bitterness. OK.

Yellow color, steady off-white head. Herbal oregano aroma. Light-bodied. Herbal flavors, a bit fruity. Herbs are stronger in the aroma than in the flavor. A bit too gimmicky.

33 cl bottle from a 4-pack of different MD brews, purchased a while back from Systembolaget in Mölndal. Sampled on November 21, 2013. BB date seems like they missed it at first, but miss print on other part of the label as 2014-04-02.Slight bit hazy pale golden color, smallish white head. Sugary, sweet, grainy, some potatoes, some vegetables, mire (myrmark) scent. Also a bit spicy and sweet pumpkin, asparagus, rather weird. Sweet, spicy, thin, a bit fresh taste. Thinish mouthfeel, very low bitterness.

Bottled@SBWF2013. Hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, bog myrtle, some herbal and sprucelike notes. Flavour is fruity, floral, mildly toffeeish and sweet malty. Nicely balanced, where all elements blend out quite elegantly.
