A traditional session London Porter based on an old recipe using English Pale, Crystal and Chocolate Malts, Fuggles and Goldings Hops. These produce a dark beer with malty body and bitterness balanced with a hint of coffee and liquorice.

Bottle at the brewery, 11/04/15. Light black with a moderate tan swirl atop the glass. Nose is light roast, charr, chocolate, toffee. Taste comprises chocolate, toffee, hints of dark fruit rinds, spice, faint liquorice. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, touch thin and watery, drying close. Average.

Opaque dark brown color with a fine tan head. Ok lacing. Coffee and mild roasted aroma. Medium body. Moderate sweet and an ok bitterness. Soft carbonation. Coffee, mild roasted and some caramel malt. A really pleasant tasty and fine porter. Fresh and easy drinkable session ale.

Cask handpump at the brewery in bermondsey. Hazed cola coloured pour with a halo of light tan head. Aroma is yeasty, earthy coco, harsh alcohol, with light dried fruit, flavour is composed of dirty brown malts, nutty, grainy tannin, tangy choc and berry. Really harsh and astringent. Palate is thin, insipid watery. Harsh and woody. Really shit.

On cask at the brewery. Very dark brown colour clear lasting tan head. Some chocolate but actually itโs a bit thin. Not overly keen. A bit of dry dark syrup. Good condition just not my thing a bit dry but a little liquorice too.

Cask handpump at the brewery taproom. Pours somewhat unclear brown with a creamy tan head. The aroma holds some nicely toasted malts, subtle cocoa, dried fruits. Light-medium sweet flavor with notes of burnt biscuits, earthy bitterness, dried berries, bittersweet chocolate, mild doughy brown bread, burnt grass. Light bodied with fine carbonation. A bit too much grassy bitterness in the finish, some mild astringency, toasted grain husks, leaves, dried berries, dirt, dusty cocoa. So so.
