Pours a dark ruby brown colour with a small creamy beige head. The aroma is dark roasted malts and coffee grounds with a hint of chocolate. A light dry roasted taste, sark roasted malts and coffee flavours with a drying roasted bitter finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Shakespeare's Head, Holborn 30/12/2022. Near black in colour with reddish undertones and a slight, beige, head. Aroma of plain chocolate, leafy hops, coffee beans and a touch of toastiness. Flavour had coffee upfront, with some caramel, toasted malts and some sweetish chocolate lingering on in the finish. Good.

Cask @ Chequers, Walthamstow. Black with a small head. It has sweetened dark to roasted malts and gets a bit sweeter in its nose. Has a somewhat smooth texture.
Interesting one. Can’t quite put my finger on the flavor - I think I’m tasting coffee (albeit not bitter) and maybe some roasted malt? Hard to place but solid.

330ml bottle at the Salmon, Leicester. Mid- to dark brown, translucent with a ring of off-white head. Roasted malts, some freshly ground coffee in the aroma. Sweet taste with a balancing bitter edge, some chocolate notes and a bit of savoury yeast extract. Long bitter finish. Medium body & carbonation. Solid but not outstanding porter. And I am afraid that I don't really get any of the Sorachi Ace.
