From tap at Speciaalbier Café De Markies, Leeuwarden. Loads of campfire in the aroma with smoke and bacon, with dark malt, caramel, and hints of chocolate. Flavour is medium sweet and nicely bitter. Body is above medium. Burnt ashy smoked meat, "een bak rook in de bek". Good!

33cl bottle (BBF: 12/2019) from Beerwulf webshop. F: thin, tanned, quick gone. C: black, opaque. A: a lot of smoky tones, smoked meat, caramel, leather, dark fruits. T: medium to full malty base, smoked meat, bit tobacco, caramel, smoked fish, bit dark fruits, soft carbonation, not very complex yet very good for sure, fully enjoyed.

Thuis uit een flesje. Donkerbruin, redelijk schuim. Inderdaad een lichte rookgeur, in de smaak zelfs nog wat sterker. Goed van smaak, prima.

330 ml. bottle. Ugly murky brown mocha, touch black, small tanned head. Nose is liquid smoke, smoked plum, leather, smoked fig, sweet smoke, liquorice, smoked teriyaki, intense,… Taste is thick, less intense than smell, overripe fruit, figs, dash of liquid smoke, paprika, leather big time, some BE, dash salty liquorice, dash soy sauce, overripe dried red fruits, bay leaf, big smoked prune,… Solid body but not as thick as you would expect. Very interesting & tasty.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, creamy beige head. Aroma of smoke, leather, some pumpernickel, dark chocolate, light fruity. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, roasted malts, rye, chocolate, leather, smoke, some liquorice, bitter finish. Medium to full bodied. Good.

Bottle at home. Black with fluffy light tan head. Sweet roasted chocolate malts, big peaty, salmiak, light charcoal, roasted chestnuts, and light dark fruits. Over medium sweet and bitter.
