Sample from 75 cl. bottle. Clear, amber colour with a reddish hue. Small, off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts and yeasts, only a hint of hops. Some alcohol. Medium sweet taste. Medium body, soft carbonation. Finishes sweet with caramel malts, spices and an alcohol note. Pleasent but lacks bitterness to be a really good saison.

Bottled. A red beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, and straw, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Slightly estery nose, Belgian yeast. Medium body, lowish carbonation, sweet caramel and some light phenols. Absolutely no bitterness. A decent Belgian Ale, but has absolutely nothing to do with a Saison. 250113

Small cream-coloured head, disappearing over cloudy red-foxy to amber beer. Fruity, sherry, oxydation as from old wine, vinous; woodbarrels for alcohol. Sharp-ish, but pleasing, as if a rare vintage fortified wine is opened... SAISON they said?! Totally different flavour, at odds with the nose; dry, bitterish, slightly spicy. Retronasal, however, some of the former aromas return: vinous, dried fruit (apricots, peaches?). Also a bit medicinal - sparadrap. MF is light even empty, strange for a 7.8% ABV beer. Carbonation more felt than observed. This might be Authentique as well as Saison de Blaton but it is NOT an authentic Saison - and that’s a fact. Having said that, it isn’t a bad beer by half, even if I think the MF too thinnish.

75cl bottle, BB end of 201?, shared with Tomaz.
