A sour wheat beer with a centuries-old tradition, this Berlin specialty risked oblivion before coming back into vogue thanks to the recent craft beer movement. A straw-colored beer with a light and elegant body and a moderate acidity, our interpretation features a distinctive cereal flavor with hints of spices.

On tap @ XII Edizione di Cheese in Bra.

Bottle at the 2nd Lockdown Tasting, picked up in Sicily IIRC, Watford Tahn 14/08/20. Hazed golden yellow with a decent white cap. Nose is lemon zest, grass, straw, stale breads. Taste comprises lemon tinged straw, light wood must, hint of lime, on the turn melon, balsa wood. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light puckering climax. Decent on point 'Linner.

Keg at GBBF 2018. It pours clear straw yellow with a thick white head. The aroma is straw, toasty grain, musty, gooseberry, lemon - lime and salt & vinegar crisps. The taste is crisp, dry, clean, tart, lemon sherbet, pickled onion monster munch, minerals, lactic tang, natural yoghurt with a drying and limey finish. Light + body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Quite refreshing. Not bad.

Bottle. Color: Very pale yellow. Aroma: Lightly sour, wheat, hints of yellow fruit. Taste: Moderate to medium sour, notes of citrus fruit, lemon. Light to moderate bitterness. Bit watery. Under medium body, average carbonation. Too watery and lacking taste in my opinion.
