[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] An attractive glossy dark tawny coloured pour with a thin beige head; earthy malt aroma; rather thin in the mouth at first, with red fruit and burnt sugar; then a dry smooth finish with raisins and nuts. A satisfying winter pint.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - dark brown and opaque. Decent head. Nose - light farmyard and dried fruits. Taste - creamy toffee, mostly. Palate - medium bodied, creamy and fairly rich. Then very watery on the finish. Overall - expected more structure considering the style.

Bree Louise. Cask. Clear amber - brown beer, no real head. Palate is smootg with very modest carbonation. Toffee malt, slightly tangy. Good dried fruits, somewhat dark in character. Not bad but could use some condition.
