Half-pint, cask at Hand and Heart. Spotty lacing from a filmy layer. Clear golden-brown. Aroma of brown malts and dried fruits. Malt-fruity taste of ripe orange and mid-sweet malts. Drying ending. Okay, rather anonymous (shared with Finn, Nottingham 20.02.2016).

Cask at The Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Poured a clear medium amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is big malt and fruit. The flavour is weak bitter and a little watery. The malt and fruit are there in the flavour along with some hoppy, grassy notes, but this beer lacks the punch to make it a quality ale.

Jan 2012: Took a risk with this beer: Hand pulled pint into a nonic in a newly opened, refurbished pub, new landlord and the beer is from a brewery I’d never heard of. The beer was a good clear bronze/dull copper colour, the head a thin covering of small white bubbles. They have used hops from New Zealand and the US in the brew and the nose was certainly on the hoppy side: the taste was also leaning more towards hops than malts. Pleasant beer, easy to drink and refreshing, the hops giving a semi-bitter bite and dry finish without completely taking over the taste.
