From old tasting notes. Bright Amber gold color. Creamy white head. Soft fruity malt nose. Zesty sweet malt flavor hints at toffee with a touch of sour malt. Nice balance and flavor. Light citrus hops in finish.

Cask at the Salisbury Arms, Cambridge. Pours clear amber-red with a tight, lasting beige cream head. Toasty-bready malt nose, some ripe berries, plums, faint caramel. Light sweet flavor with dry, toasted brown bread, some semi-ripe berries. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light finish, some well ripe citrus, doughy brown bread, drying berries. Very simple beer. Easy-drinking stuff, but simple.

Half pint, cask at Castle Hotel. Good looking with its deep, golden-brown coloured body. Tiny layer at the top leaving carpeted lacing behind. Firm aroma of leafy hops and mid-sweet malts. Malt-fruity taste profile with resin and caramel. Satisfying bitterness to the finish. Well balanced. A good bitter that fits the season (Manchester, 21.01.2013).

Sampled cask conditioned at Castle Inn, Manchester.
Pale golden. Lightly flowery aroma. Rather sweet and fruity. Despite containing more alcohol then other Manchester bitters it still feels lighter.
