I’m sure I rated this before and it got nuked, but here’s a re-rate: Aroma is white raisins, caramel, and dates. Chestnut brown, thin yellow head. Medium body, malty, lightly sweet but finishes sweeter with maraschino cherries.

Deep, slightly hazy brown coloured body with a dense, thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, oxidised malt, grapes and a little umami - odd. Medium-bodied; Strong sweet flavours at first of caramel and pit fruits with a lot of alcohol warmth soon afterwards and a lot of malt and metallic bitterness on the tail end. Aftertaste finishes very sweet with a little nutty and earthy tastes and a lingering malt taste with the alcohol warmth still strong. Overall, a decent scotch, not true to style at all, but with a good cause and a decently flavoured and complex beer, this isn’t bad to sample at all. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 13-February-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 24-February-2011.

22 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with a large tan head. The aroma is very malty and yeasty, with notes of bread, nuts, figs, caramel, apples and lemon peels. The flavor is very sweet. The palate is thick and syrupy, a little tart, and a smooth, creamy finish. Overall, a good beer, complex and balanced.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite - Jersey City, 12/5/10
Aroma: Sweet malty notes dominate the nose: caramel, burnt malts, brown sugar, and fruit
Appearance: This one pours a dark brownish-red color with minimal beige head and lace
Flavor: This one is rather sweet, sugary, malty, same components as the nose
Palate: Medium bodied, with a smooth feel, soft carbonation, and very well-hidden booze
Overall Impression: Overall, this is a solid -malt forward brew. It has a lot of sweetness to it, which I'm not generally a fan of, but it works alright here. Its manily sugar, burnt malts, and fruit, so it is fairly one-dimensional, but the quality is solid. Worthy of a decent score, and one I'm glad I got to try.
